THE BSH - PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
The BSH was formed in 1985 by a small group of experienced homoeopaths who saw the need to combine the traditional principles and methodology of homoeopathy with an educational experience which would allow the maximum possible freedom for students to learn in ways appropriate to their needs and abilities.
The School has been responsible for many of the major initiatives in homoeopathic education. The current methods of clinical training adopted by most schools are based on principles developed by the BSH. We were one of the first organisations to develop clinical training as an independent part of the curriculum and were also one of the first schools to transfer the financial aspects of our School to a not-for-profit company.
What else might you need to know as a potential student about the BSH?

Being a student of homoeopathy is an exercise in co-operation and personal development that mirrors the partnerships we will have with our patients in our practices. We believe that everyone who cares brings value to homoeopathy and we have developed systems that get the best out of everyone who has the necessary commitment and professional attitude.
The BSH emphasises the right, indeed the NEED, for students to doubt, challenge and question their tutors about homoeopathy. As the Principal says, “if we can’t justify it to you then we are not clear enough about it ourselves”. This is just one example of the open and mutually respectful nature of the staff/student interaction at the BSH that we believe is one of the great benefits of studying with us.
